Vintage Japanese Small Drawer, Showa Era (SKU 25D-217-1)

Showa-era compact tansu-style cabinet with lift-top compartment and multi-purpose storage.

This vintage Japanese small drawer chest is a functional piece of Showa-period design, combining clean modern lines with the practicality of traditional tansu. The warm reddish-brown front contrasts subtly with the darker side panels, while simple metal pulls add a restrained mid-century accent. Its tall, slim profile makes it ideal for apartments or corners where floor space is limited.

The upper section features a hinged lift-top that opens to a divided interior tray, perfect for organizing sewing notions, stationery, or accessories. Below are three drawers of varying depth and a double-door cabinet with internal partitions and a pocket on the inside of one door, echoing classic Japanese storage ingenuity. This versatile cabinet works equally well as a bedside chest, entryway organizer, or compact office storage.
