Showa-era wooden tansu-style desktop chest with five slim drawers

This compact Japanese small drawer chest, or ko-tansu, dates from the mid-Showa period and was likely used in an office or atelier for storing documents, writing tools, or craft materials. The simple rectilinear case is finished in a warm brown stain, with the drawer fronts left slightly lighter to emphasize the natural grain and create a subtle two-tone effect.

Five evenly spaced drawers glide smoothly and are fitted with original metal card-frame pulls, allowing for easy labeling in a studio, home office, or shop.
