Vintage Japanese Jubako (SKU 25D-268-2)

Elegant vermilion lacquer jubako with gold family crest, complete with original wooden storage box

This vintage Japanese jubako (tiered food box) is finished in a rich vermilion red lacquer and decorated on each tier with a bold gold kamon crest. The crisp circular motif of stylised foliage lends a refined, festive character, making the piece ideal for New Year’s osechi ryori or other celebratory dishes. The clean, modern lines suggest mid-Showa sensibilities while remaining firmly rooted in traditional design.

Comprising five stacking tiers and a matching lid, the jubako is housed in its original wooden storage case, which has protected the lacquer and speaks to the care with which it was kept. Display it as a striking accent in a contemporary interior, or bring it back to the table for special gatherings to enjoy an authentic touch of Japanese hospitality.

As part of our mission to preserve and share Japanese craftsmanship, we offer antiques that were made not just to be admired, but to be used. These pieces were crafted for everyday life, and we honor their purpose by ensuring they can continue to be enjoyed and lived with today.

We use professional studio lighting to highlight the natural character of the wood. As a result, the tone may appear slightly warmer than under natural daylight.

All vintage and antique items are sold as-is. Each piece may exhibit signs of age, including scratches, wear, or minor imperfections. These are not considered defects but natural evidence of the item’s authenticity and age.
