This vintage Japanese haribako is a small sewing chest designed for storing needles, thread, fabric tools, and other handwork essentials in one portable piece. The form combines a hinged top compartment with three lower drawers, including a pair of smaller side-by-side drawers at center and a wider drawer below. The front is finished in a striking red-brown wood grain pattern, while the sides are darker and more understated, giving the piece a handsome contrast.
