Vintage Japanese Signboard, 1980s, Showa Era (SKU 25D-466-1)

Bold Showa-era enamel advertising sign with striking “salt” kanji and vivid corporate branding

This original Japanese enamel signboard (kanban) features the powerful white kanji for “salt” (塩) set against a deep cobalt blue ground, framed by crisp red and white borders. Produced as an outdoor advertising panel, it combines simple typography with strong color contrast, embodying the confident graphic style of mid–late Showa commercial design.

Along the lower band, the copy reads 「鮮やかな色、100年。」and brand name 「サクラカラー」 beside 「百年プリント」, promoting long-lasting, vivid color printing. Mounting holes and light rust at the corners attest to its period use, while the enamel surface still presents with attractive gloss, making this a characterful piece for collectors of vintage Japanese signage or retro interior displays.
