This elegant 5-piece set, crafted in the early Showa period (1950s), is a beautiful example of traditional Japanese interior architecture. Made from Hinoki (Japanese cypress), the set includes four vertical Shoji panels and one horizontal Ranma transom, each intricately designed with natural and symbolic imagery.

The vertical Shoji panels depict a peaceful and expansive landscape:
A serene view of Mount Fuji rising in the distance, partially veiled by soft clouds, sets the tone. In the foreground, sailing boats drift across calm waters, creating a sense of quiet movement and depth—an homage to Japan’s timeless connection with nature and sea.

The horizontal Ranma panel above features a graceful scene of two cranes in flight among the clouds, a traditional symbol of longevity, peace, and transcendence. The flowing form and delicate carving add a sense of lightness and air, visually tying the composition together.
