Vintage Japanese Shoin Door Panel — Traditional Wooden Architectural Element, 1940, Showa Era (SKU: 25S-621)
Showa-era shoin door set with carved pine, sailboats, and mountain landscape
This vintage Japanese shoin door ensemble features two main sliding doors and a transom panel (ranma), all crafted in warm-toned natural wood. Delicate kumiko latticework frames an idyllic seaside landscape: stylized Mt. Fuji rises above the horizon, birds glide across the sky, and small sailing boats dot the water, evoking the calm of a traditional Japanese study overlooking the bay.
Finely carved reliefs of auspicious matsu (pine) trees flow across the lower sections and the upper ranma, their fan-shaped needles crisply detailed and layered in three dimensions. The openwork design allows light to pass through, making this set ideal as an interior partition, decorative wall installation, or as reclaimed architectural art in a wabi-sabi or Japanese-inspired space.
