Vintage Japanese Tsubo Pot (SKU 25D-344)
Showa-era tsubo-style storage pot with rich, earthy brown glaze
This vintage Japanese pot embodies the quiet strength of mid-20th century mingei (folk craft) pottery. Wheel-thrown in a classic tsubo silhouette, it has a broad shoulder, short neck and slightly everted lip, giving it a grounded, architectural presence ideal for wabi-sabi interiors.
The surface is coated in a deep iron-brown glaze with natural variations, from glossy chocolate tones to mossy, ash-like speckling. Subtle throwing rings and kiln-fired texture remain visible, while the unglazed foot shows the original clay body, emphasizing its utilitarian roots as a storage vessel now perfectly suited for display, ikebana, or sculptural décor.
