Showa-era fukuro obi with auspicious bird-and-flower scenery in rich woven brocade

This vintage Japanese obi is woven in an opulent nishiki-ori brocade, featuring a lively medley of classic auspicious motifs. A stylized bird, reminiscent of a crane or phoenix, is framed by layered fans, flowing ribbons and dense clusters of seasonal flowers, all set against a soft ivory ground that highlights the depth of the colored silks and metallic threads.
