Vintage Japanese Millstone, 1960s, Showa Era (SKU 25D-468)
Showa-era stone mill with a beautifully aged hand-carved surface
This vintage Japanese millstone presents the quiet strength of a practical folk tool, formed in natural stone and paired with a curved wooden handle. The circular grinding face shows distinctive radial grooves, while the softened edges and timeworn patina give it the unmistakable presence of an authentic Showa era utilitarian object.
Traditionally used for grinding grains or other kitchen ingredients, it now reads as a striking rustic display piece with sculptural appeal. The two-part stone body, iron fittings, and weathered wood create a pleasing contrast, making it especially suited to interiors that appreciate wabi-sabi character and traditional Japanese craftsmanship.
