Heisei-era rattan sphere lamp with warm, diffused glow

This vintage Japanese lantern features a hand-woven rattan shade in a perfect spherical form, casting a gentle, enveloping light reminiscent of traditional andon. The natural bamboo-like fibers are woven in alternating tight and open bands, creating a rhythmic pattern that glows beautifully when illuminated.

Likely produced in the Heisei period, it reflects the era’s love of organic materials and simple, modern silhouettes.
