Vintage Japanese Lacquerware Bowl (SKU 25D-402-1)
Showa-era maroon urushi bowl with elegant gold maki-e grass motif
This vintage Japanese lacquerware bowl features a deep maroon exterior contrasted with a glossy black interior, embodying the refined simplicity of mid-Showa design. The softly flared, rounded profile gives it a generous presence on the table while remaining light in the hand, as traditional wooden urushi pieces should.
Along the outer wall, a flowing gold maki-e design of stylized grasses adds a subtle decorative accent that catches the light without overwhelming the form. Ideal as a serving bowl for rice, nimono, or sweets, or as a display piece in a tokonoma or on a lacquer tray, it brings an authentic touch of 1950s Japanese craftsmanship to any interior.
