Vintage Japanese Lacquered Ozen Serving Stand (SKU 25D-184)
Showa-era vermilion ozen serving stand with elegant gilt floral decoration
This vintage Japanese lacquered tray is crafted in the style of an ozen, the raised individual table traditionally used for serving formal meals. The square vermilion top is framed by a soft gold rim, while the gently scalloped edges and openwork legs give the piece a light, architectural presence. Subtle gilt foliate motifs along the sides add a refined decorative accent without overwhelming the clean, modern Showa lines.
Finished in glossy black lacquer on the underside and interior of the legs, this tray-stand is ideal as a compact serving table for tea or sweets, or as an elevated display platform for a favorite vase or bonsai. Its combination of bold red lacquer, gold detailing and practical height makes it a versatile accent that brings authentic mid-20th century Japanese character to both traditional and contemporary interiors.
