Vintage Japanese Lacquered Serving Bowl, 1970s, Showa Era (SKU 25D-308-4)
Showa-era lacquer bowl with elegant maki-e style decoration
This vintage Japanese lacquer ware bowl presents a beautiful contrast of glossy black urushi and refined red-and-gold ornament. The wide, rounded form and richly polished interior give it a graceful presence, while the decorative banding and floral motifs add a distinctly Japanese character.
It is accompanied by its wooden tomobako, bearing hand-written inscription, which enhances its collectible appeal. A fine example of Showa-period craftsmanship, this piece works well as both a functional serving bowl and a decorative display object.
