Vintage Japanese Korean celadon Vase, Showa Era (SKU 25D-023-2)

Elegant celadon ewer with graceful crane motifs in the Korean taste

This refined vintage piece is a tall, slender ewer-shaped vase finished in a soft blue-green celadon glaze, evoking classic Korean Goryeo ware as appreciated in Japan. The bulbous body rises to a ribbed neck and domed finial, complemented by a long, swan-like spout and a flowing handle that meets a small suspension ring at the shoulder.

Subtle underglaze decoration of flying cranes and drifting clouds circles the body, their pale silhouettes emerging gently through the translucent glaze and fine crackle (kan-nyū) that collectors prize. Offered with its fitted wooden storage box, this Showa-era piece displays beautifully as a tokonoma accent or as part of a celadon-focused collection.

As part of our mission to preserve and share Japanese craftsmanship, we offer antiques that were made not just to be admired, but to be used. These pieces were crafted for everyday life, and we honor their purpose by ensuring they can continue to be enjoyed and lived with today.

We use professional studio lighting to highlight the natural character of the wood. As a result, the tone may appear slightly warmer than under natural daylight.

All vintage and antique items are sold as-is. Each piece may exhibit signs of age, including scratches, wear, or minor imperfections. These are not considered defects but natural evidence of the item’s authenticity and age.
