Description
This is an antique Japanese personal storage chest called Ko Tansu from Taisho period (1910's-1920's).  
It was made of 100% Paulownia (Kirinoki) wood.  Originally used to store small okimono as well as documents and ephemera, its contemporary use would function well as a bedside stand or a side table.
