This is a vintage 3 section stacking Japanese chest called Isho Tansu. The top section has a large compartment and sliding doors.
It was entirely constructed in Paulownia wood (Japanese Kirinoki). Its age is from the mid.1900's.
Originally used to store Japanese Kimono, it would work well in today's home as a clothes dresser for daily use.
