Description

This is a vintage Japanese 2 section kimono storage chest called Isho Biraki tansu from Taisho period (1910's-1920's). Upper section has two doors which open to the removable kimono trays.  The bottom section has 2 drawers for additional clothes storage.

The trays are traditionally used to store properly folded Kimono, these trays are ideal for storing sweaters, shirts, blouses and linens in today's contemporary home.

Constructed out of Paulownia wood (Kirinoki) for light weight and it is easy to move about and it helps to keep clothes stored safe.
