Vintage Japanese Katana-Kake Samurai Sword Stand, Kabuto Helmet Okimono (SKU 25D-190)

Showa-era samurai-style kabuto with dramatic shika-no-tsuno (deer antler) crest and signed wood base body

This vintage Japanese kabuto is a striking Showa-period display helmet inspired by the bold forms of Sengoku armor. The iron-toned bowl is heavily textured with hammered-style panels and rivet bosses, crowned by a finely detailed tehen (hole at top) and finished with deep brown silk cords and tassels that fall elegantly over the wide mabizashi and brim.

At the front rises an impressive pair of natural deer antlers, evoking the famed shika-no-tsuno crests associated with warlords of the Momoyama and Edo eras. The helmet is presented with its original signed wooden base, making it ideal as a kazarikabuto for tokonoma, alcove, or gallery presentation while bringing an authentic samurai presence to any interior.

As part of our mission to preserve and share Japanese craftsmanship, we offer antiques that were made not just to be admired, but to be used. These pieces were crafted for everyday life, and we honor their purpose by ensuring they can continue to be enjoyed and lived with today.

We use professional studio lighting to highlight the natural character of the wood. As a result, the tone may appear slightly warmer than under natural daylight.

All vintage and antique items are sold as-is. Each piece may exhibit signs of age, including scratches, wear, or minor imperfections. These are not considered defects but natural evidence of the item’s authenticity and age.
