Description

This is a vintage 2 section stacking Japanese chest called Isho Tansu.  The top section has a large compartment for tall items, sliding doors amd 3 drawers below. The bottom section has 3 drawers. 

It was entirely constructed in Paulownia wood (Japanese Kirinoki). Its age is from the late Taisho to early Showa era (circa 1920's).

Originally used to store Japanese Kimono. This tansu comes in shorter size so it is ideal for children's room.
