Vintage Japanese Kettle, Iron, Showa Era (SKU 25D-452-1)
Rustic Showa-era tetsubin with hammered texture and fern-like relief
This compact vintage Japanese iron kettle, or tetsubin, showcases the quiet strength of Showa-period metalwork. The cylindrical body flares gently at the base, resting on a rounded foot that recalls traditional hearth kettles used over the irori. A forged swing handle arches gracefully above the lid, its surface left intentionally irregular to celebrate the hand of the maker.
The richly patinated iron is animated by a subtle all-over hammered texture and vertical fern-like motifs in low relief, giving the piece a natural, wabi-sabi presence. Whether displayed in a chashitsu tea room or used as an accent in a contemporary interior, this vintage Japanese iron kettle brings an authentic sense of age, warmth, and craftsmanship to any setting.
