Dragon‑handled miniature temple bell with suspended striker

This cast-metal okane-style gong evokes the great bonshō temple bells of Japan in compact form, complete with a suspended log striker and finely cast relief decoration. A sinuous ryū (dragon) coils up the side to support the hanging bell, symbolising protection and auspicious power in East Asian Buddhist iconography.

Rich, dark patina softens the crisp surface details—lotus-petal base, patterned shoulder panels and flame-like motifs—giving this vintage piece a quietly aged presence. Ideal as a decorative desk gong, altar accent or conversation piece, it brings a touch of Shōwa-era charm and temple atmosphere into any interior.
