Taisho-era style Japanese gong with wooden frame and original beater

This vintage Japanese gong, or do-gane, is suspended within a clean-lined hardwood frame that recalls the restrained geometry of Taisho design. The dark, gently domed metal gong has a well-aged surface and hangs from simple iron rings on a cord, creating a striking contrast against the warm brown timber.

Complete with its turned wooden mallet and fabric-wrapped head, this piece is ready for display or light ceremonial use. Whether placed in an entryway, meditation corner, or studio, it brings an authentic touch of Japanese décor and a resonant, commanding tone to any interior.
