This is a vintage set of Japanese Goban, Go board and Go Ishi stone from ealry Showa (1940's).

Go is an abstract strategy board game for 2 players and the board is made of Kaya wood (Japanese nutmeg-yew or Torreya Nucifera).

Kaya is the one of the best wood for Go board because of its adequate softness, beautiful grain patterns, color, shine.
