Vintage Japanese Folding Table, Showa Era (SKU 25D-002)

Showa-era round zataku with rich dark finish and practical folding base

This vintage Japanese folding table is a classic Showa-period zataku, designed for floor-seated dining and tea. The circular top is finished in a deep reddish-brown stain that highlights the natural wood grain, giving the piece a quiet warmth that suits both traditional and contemporary interiors.

Underneath, a simple, sturdy folding leg structure allows the table to collapse flat for easy storage against a wall or in a tansu. Surface wear, light scratches, and patina from everyday use add authentic character, making this an ideal accent for a tatami room, wabi-sabi inspired space, or as a low coffee table.

As part of our mission to preserve and share Japanese craftsmanship, we offer antiques that were made not just to be admired, but to be used. These pieces were crafted for everyday life, and we honor their purpose by ensuring they can continue to be enjoyed and lived with today.

We use professional studio lighting to highlight the natural character of the wood. As a result, the tone may appear slightly warmer than under natural daylight.

All vintage and antique items are sold as-is. Each piece may exhibit signs of age, including scratches, wear, or minor imperfections. These are not considered defects but natural evidence of the item’s authenticity and age.
