Vintage Japanese Daruma Figure Okimono - 1950s Showa Era (25D-146) (SKU 25D-146)
Showa-era bronze figure of a robed Daruma, rich with timeworn patina.
This expressive vintage Japanese figure is cast as a standing monk or rakan, wrapped tightly in flowing robes that pool around his bare feet. The sculptor has captured a wonderfully human expression—part stern, part contemplative—typical of mid-Showa interpretations of Buddhist imagery, while the dark bronze surface has mellowed to warm chestnut and olive tones.
Designed to stand on a butsudan altar, tokonoma, or as a distinctive accent in a wabi-sabi interior. Subtle casting marks, tiny pits, and color variations in the patina speak to age and use, enhancing the piece’s quiet presence and making it an ideal addition to a collection of Japanese bronze or Buddhist art.
