Vintage Japanese Crane Statue (SKU 25D-277-2)

Elegant mid-century bronze tsuru figure with beautiful aged patina

This vintage Japanese crane statue captures the graceful upward stretch of the tsuru, a long‑necked bird revered in Japan as a symbol of longevity, fidelity, and good fortune. Cast in metal with a slender beak parted in mid‑call and finely modelled legs and claws, it has a lyrical, almost calligraphic silhouette that reads as both sculpture and line drawing in space.

Layered feather work along the body and tail is highlighted by a soft greenish bronze patina developed over decades, characteristic of Showa‑era garden and interior ornaments. Subtle weathering, small areas of surface rust at the leg joints, and natural color variation all contribute to the wabi‑sabi charm of this mid-century piece, making it an ideal accent for a tokonoma alcove, entryway, or serene garden corner.
