Vintage Japanese Tea Bowl (SKU 25D-234-14)
Subtle white-glazed Chawan with signed tomobako presentation box
This elegant vintage Japanese tea bowl is wheel-thrown in fine stoneware and finished with a soft hakugorai-style white glaze that gently pools toward the foot. The exterior shows faint throwing rings and a delicate crackled surface, celebrating the wabi-sabi aesthetic prized in Japanese tea and sake ware.
The dark, unglazed foot contrasts beautifully with the misty white body and bears the potter’s impressed seal. It comes housed in its original signed wooden tomobako box with calligraphy and red seals, making it ideal for collectors of Heisei-era ceramics or for refined use as a guinomi or small yunomi in daily tea and sake rituals.
