Vintage Japanese Maneki-Neko Cat (SKU 25D-098)

Charming vintage maneki neko beckoning cat with classic calico markings and bold kanji plaque

This vintage Japanese maneki neko figurine captures the warmth of a traditional shopfront lucky cat. Finished in a soft ivory glaze with vivid calico-style spots, it raises its right paw in the familiar welcoming gesture said to invite good fortune and customers, making it an ideal accent for an entrance, counter, or personal altar.

The cat wears a red collar with painted bell and green bib, while a large oval koban-style plaque is inscribed in bold black kanji for prosperity. The underside shows an open base typical of molded display figures, adding to its authentic, slightly rustic shōwa/heisei-era charm. A characterful piece that brings a touch of nostalgic Japan to any interior.

As part of our mission to preserve and share Japanese craftsmanship, we offer antiques that were made not just to be admired, but to be used. These pieces were crafted for everyday life, and we honor their purpose by ensuring they can continue to be enjoyed and lived with today.

We use professional studio lighting to highlight the natural character of the wood. As a result, the tone may appear slightly warmer than under natural daylight.

All vintage and antique items are sold as-is. Each piece may exhibit signs of age, including scratches, wear, or minor imperfections. These are not considered defects but natural evidence of the item’s authenticity and age.
