Charming Showa-era maneki neko with bold hand-painted details and classic welcoming pose
This vintage Japanese maneki neko features the iconic raised left paw, inviting good fortune and many customers into the home or shop. The cat is finished in a warm ivory tone with vivid red ears and collar, accented by floral and foliate motifs that are typical of mid-Showa folk design.
A large oval medallion on the chest bears auspicious kanji, while the expressive eyes and long, clear whiskers give this beckoning cat a lively personality.
