Vintage Japanese Calendar 1979, Showa Era (SKU 26M-HSATO1981)
Colorful katazome calendar portfolio in the folk-art spirit of Keisuke Serizawa
This vintage Japanese calendar set presents twelve richly colored sheets housed in their original speckled paper folder, each month designed with playful motifs from everyday Showa-era life. Hand-cut style lettering, bold blocks of color, and charming icons such as daruma, maneki neko, seasonal vegetables, and traditional toys echo the celebrated mingei (folk craft) designs associated with Keisuke Serizawa and his circle.
Printed on soft washi with a warm, slightly textured surface, the calendar pages have the look of katazome stencil work, with overlapping hues and subtle registration marks that add to their handmade character. Signed “SERI-KEN” in the margin of each sheet, this ensemble is ideal for framing individually, displaying as a complete portfolio, or enjoying as an authentic Showa-period graphic accent.
