Vintage Japanese Screen, Bamboo (SKU 25D-191-1)

Showa-era four-panel sudare screen with carved landscape medallions

This vintage Japanese bamboo screen is crafted in the traditional sudare style, with finely spaced bamboo slats framed by warm, dark-stained wood. The four hinged panels create a light, breathable partition that softly filters views and light, ideal for defining spaces in a tatami room, studio, or contemporary interior.

Across the midsection runs a band of rich timber insets, each pierced with stylised motifs of Mount Fuji and pine, evoking classic Japanese landscape art. Additional openwork bamboo designs along the lower rail add balance and rhythm to the composition, giving this Showa-era piece both decorative presence and practical function as a folding room divider.
