Vintage Japanese Altar Fitting 9" Wide Kyozukue Table (SKU 25D-453-6)
Showa-era butsudan stand with elegant black lacquer, gilt accents, and hand-carved floral detail
This vintage Japanese altar table, or ozendai, is finished in deep black lacquer highlighted with fine gold maki-e style scrollwork. The rectangular top has softly rounded edges and a subtle raised lip, providing a refined platform for displaying a small Buddha figure, incense burner, or cherished object.
Beneath the top runs a band of carved natural wood, depicting flowering branches framed by gilt end columns, adding warmth and depth to the design. The pierced apron and cabriole legs rest on a low stretcher base, all decorated with stylised floral and foliage motifs that reflect the craftsmanship of mid-Showa-period Buddhist furnishings.
