Vintage Japanese Panels Screen Divider, 1990s, Heisei Era (SKU 25D-099)
Lightweight Japanese bamboo room divider with carved wood base and airy lattice detail.
This vintage four-panel screen evokes the relaxed elegance of a traditional Japanese interior, combining a warm softwood frame with finely strung bamboo reeds. The upper rail is gently undulated, echoing the silhouette of classic byōbu, while horizontal slats introduce a subtle architectural rhythm that feels both modern and timeless.
Each panel is hinged for flexible use as a room divider, privacy screen, or backdrop, with the lower sections featuring delicate openwork carving of grasses that recall susuki swaying on a hillside. The natural tones and semi‑transparent weave soften light beautifully, making this piece an ideal accent for a tatami room, studio, or wabi‑sabi inspired space.
