Vintage Japanese Panels Screen Divider (SKU 25D-029)

Showa-era Japanese bamboo screen divider with four folding panels and airy sudare-style weaving.

This vintage Japanese 4-panel screen divider evokes the relaxed elegance of a traditional washitsu interior. Each tall panel is framed in warm-toned wood and filled with finely spaced vertical reed or bamboo slats, reminiscent of classic sudare blinds used to filter light and create privacy in summer months.

Mid-height open bands and the lower rails with simple incised decoration lend the piece a light, architectural feel, allowing glimpses of the room beyond while still defining space. The black metal hinges fold both ways for flexible use as a room divider, backdrop, or subtle accent in a Japanese-inspired interior or contemporary wabi-sabi setting.
