Description

This is an authentic Japanese 2 section tea chest called Cha Tansu from mid. to late 1900's.

Made with a Maple wood front (Momiji), Horse Chestnut wood frame (Tochinoki), and Paulownia (Kirinoki) wood drawer, this cabinet was used to store tea sets and items used for tea service to entertain guests.  

It has glass sliding doors where seasonal decorations could be easily changed to mark the mood of the occasion.
