Antique Japanese Bronze Vase, 1920s, Taisho Era (SKU 25D-156-2)
Taishō-era tsubo-form bronze vase with subtle scrollwork decoration
This compact antique Japanese vase is crafted in heavy bronze with a low, rounded tsubo (storage jar) silhouette that speaks to early 20th-century design sensibilities. The deep, almost black patina is warmed by traces of reddish-brown undertones, giving the surface a quiet depth that only decades of handling and oxidation can produce.
Encircling the shoulder is a band of finely chased karakusa (scroll) motifs, adding a refined decorative accent while keeping the overall aesthetic understated and modern. Ideal as a small ikebana vessel or as a stand-alone sculptural object, this Taisho era bronze vase brings an authentic wabi-sabi presence to a shelf, alcove, or contemporary interior.
