Taishō-era three-section kimono tansu with kiri mon kanagu, kannon biraki doors, and classic warabite pulls
This elegant antique kimono tansu is a three-section chest (mizuya-style stacking construction) designed for organizing robes and personal garments in a traditional Japanese home. The façade is composed of vertical sugi grain panels framed with softly chamfered edges, creating a warm, architectural presence that sits comfortably in both classic and contemporary interiors.
The upper section features sliding hikidō doors above a row of small drawers, while the center showcases refined kannon biraki double doors accented with pierced iron fittings and deep indigo tassels. Below, two full-width drawers with iron warabite-style pulls offer generous storage. Delicate round escutcheons bearing a stylized kiri mon crest and original key hardware complete the piece, highlighting its Taishō-period craftsmanship.
A finely detailed Taishō kimono tansu, ready to bring authentic Japanese character and practical storage to your space.
We use professional studio lighting to highlight the natural character of the wood. As a result, the tone may appear slightly warmer than under natural daylight.
All vintage and antique items are sold as-is. Each piece may exhibit signs of age, including scratches, wear, or minor imperfections. These are not considered defects but natural evidence of the item’s authenticity and age.
