Taishō-era three-section kimono tansu with floral karakusa hardware and sliding hikido doors
This elegant three-section isho-dansu was crafted to store kimono and personal garments, its tall, refined form showcasing straight grain timbers and beautifully patinated ironwork. The upper case features a pair of framed hikido sliding doors above a row of three small drawers, while the two lower sections offer wide, full-width drawers ideal for folded textiles or linens.
Delicately cast pulls with a floral karakusa scroll motif, iron side braces, and lock escutcheons provide a subtle decorative contrast to the warm natural wood. The three-part stacking construction, typical of kimono tansu, allows for easier moving and flexible display, making this piece a functional statement for a bedroom, dressing room, or entryway in both traditional and modern interiors.
A finely balanced antique kimono tansu that brings authentic Taishō-period craftsmanship and practical storage to any space.
We use professional studio lighting to highlight the natural character of the wood. As a result, the tone may appear slightly warmer than under natural daylight.
All vintage and antique items are sold as-is. Each piece may exhibit signs of age, including scratches, wear, or minor imperfections. These are not considered defects but natural evidence of the item’s authenticity and age.
