This small antique tansu embodies the practical elegance of traditional Japanese storage furniture. The warm, honey-toned wood is framed by heavy hand-forged iron corner brackets, drawer pulls, and distinctive circular lock plates that punctuate the façade with strong graphic presence. Designed to be both portable and durable, the chest stands on simple cut-out feet and features side carry handles typical of merchant or household cabinetry.

The front is articulated with multiple drawers and a small hinged door, secured by layered iron straps and a round lock plate, evoking classic sendai and ko-dansu styling.
