Vintage Japanese Small Drawer, 1950s, Showa Era (SKU 25D-415-2)

Compact Showa-era style cabinet with double doors and twin drawers

This charming small cabinet showcases beautifully figured keyaki-style grain across its double doors, framed by clean, rectilinear lines typical of early 20th-century Japanese furniture. The warm, honey-brown finish highlights the swirling wood patterns, giving the piece an understated presence that suits both traditional tansu interiors and modern spaces.

Behind the hinged doors is a single open compartment with an elegant scalloped kamoi-style rail at the top, ideal for use as a miniature butsudan, a display nook for treasured objects, or practical storage by the bedside. Two small drawers at the base, fitted with delicate metal pulls, offer additional organization for accessories, incense, or daily essentials.

As part of our mission to preserve and share Japanese craftsmanship, we offer antiques that were made not just to be admired, but to be used. These pieces were crafted for everyday life, and we honor their purpose by ensuring they can continue to be enjoyed and lived with today.

We use professional studio lighting to highlight the natural character of the wood. As a result, the tone may appear slightly warmer than under natural daylight.

All vintage and antique items are sold as-is. Each piece may exhibit signs of age, including scratches, wear, or minor imperfections. These are not considered defects but natural evidence of the item’s authenticity and age.
