Taishō-era ko-tansu chest with striking figured keyaki grain

This compact four-drawer ko-dansu is crafted in richly figured keyaki (zelkova), prized in Japanese furniture for its dramatic “tamo” grain and durability. The drawer fronts display a beautiful undulating pattern, framed by clean lines and tight joinery that speak to early 20th-century Taishō workmanship.
