Compact Taisho-era style ko-dansu cabinet with double doors and lower drawer

This charming small chest recalls the practical beauty of a traditional Japanese ko-dansu, or personal storage cabinet. The warm, medium-brown wood grain is framed by darker stained borders, giving the front doors a refined, panelled appearance that feels both rustic and architectural. Iron side pulls and hinges add a subtle industrial accent while remaining true to classic tansu hardware.

Behind the twin hinged doors is a simple open compartment for everyday items, with a full-width drawer below for documents, textiles, or tea ware. Its modest scale makes it ideal atop a desk, sideboard, or in a modern entryway, where it can serve as a handsome organizer while introducing authentic Japanese vintage character to the space.
