This elegant antique Japanese small drawer chest is crafted in richly toned hardwood, finished in a deep reddish-brown that highlights the natural grain. The clean, rectilinear form is accented with simple iron hardware, giving it the calm presence associated with early 20th-century tansu furniture from the Taishō period.

Designed as a practical personal storage box, it features a lift-off top section revealing a generous open compartment, above a full-width drawer fitted with a classic warabite-style pull. Discreet brass corner plates and edge bands reinforce the structure while adding a subtle decorative note, making this piece ideal for storing documents, stationery, or treasured small objects in a modern interior.
