Taishō-era rin set with lacquered stand, brocade cushion, and original striker
This antique Japanese singing bowl, or rin, is presented as a complete temple set, including its richly carved vermilion lacquer stand, silk brocade cushion, and leather-wrapped wooden striker. The dark, hand-hammered bowl rests on a vibrant red-and-purple cushion woven with metallic floral motifs, evoking the refined atmosphere of a Taishō-period (c.1920s) Buddhist altar.
The stand is finished in deep cinnabar red with gilt accents, pierced scrollwork, and braided relief panels, and bears hand-brushed kanji inscriptions indicating temple dedication. Together, the singing bowl, zafu-style cushion, and ornate base form a harmonious ensemble ideal for o-butsudan use, meditation practice, or as a striking focal point in a Japanese-inspired interior.
A refined Taishō-era rin ensemble that brings authentic temple resonance and visual richness to any contemplative space.
We use professional studio lighting to highlight the natural character of the wood. As a result, the tone may appear slightly warmer than under natural daylight.
All vintage and antique items are sold as-is. Each piece may exhibit signs of age, including scratches, wear, or minor imperfections. These are not considered defects but natural evidence of the item’s authenticity and age.
