This is an antique Japanese Kamado, rice steamer made of copper, wooden lids from Taisho period (1910's-1920's).
Before the electric rice cooker was invented, rice was cooked on a kamado, usually a large stove built in a corner of the kitchen. To boil rice on a kamado, first a fire is started using firewood on the bottom. Next, a pot containing the rice and water is placed over the fire and covered with a thick wooden lid.
This peice is not built in the house so must be portable for venders to use at the events and festivals.
It still have all original pieces attached and rare piece like this will be the best conversation piece for your home.
