Elegant Taishō-era standing mirror with rich dark wood grain and tilting frame
This antique Japanese standing mirror, or okimono kagami, features a tall rectangular glass set within a beautifully grained dark hardwood frame. The simple, architectural lines and gently rounded edges reflect the refined modernism of early 20th-century Japan, making it an easy piece to blend into both traditional and contemporary interiors.
Supported by a sturdy trestle base with subtly curved feet, the mirror tilts within its side supports, allowing for comfortable adjustment when dressing. The lower panel showcases the dramatic wood grain, adding warmth and visual interest while grounding the slender proportions of the piece.
A refined Taishō statement piece that brings both function and understated Japanese elegance to any space.
We use professional studio lighting to highlight the natural character of the wood. As a result, the tone may appear slightly warmer than under natural daylight.
All vintage and antique items are sold as-is. Each piece may exhibit signs of age, including scratches, wear, or minor imperfections. These are not considered defects but natural evidence of the item’s authenticity and age.
