Description

This is an antique 1 section Japanese clothing chest called Isho Tansu  that originated from the Matsumoto region of Japan from Middle Meiji period ( 1880's - 1890's).  Constructed from Paulownia wood (Kirinoki) and Cypress (Hinoki) wood.

Originally used for kimono storage, it can be used for the same purpose as well as storage for clothes or linens.  

All of the iron hardware was hand made and the lacquer is natural Japanese Urushi.
