Compact Taishō-era style ko tansu with classic kannon biraki doors and three practical drawers.

This charming antique Japanese ko tansu (small chest) features a distinctive kannon biraki upper compartment, its twin doors opening wide to reveal a single open storage space ideal for treasured objects or everyday essentials. The warm, honey-toned wood grain is highlighted by simple framing to each panel, giving the piece a quiet architectural presence that suits both traditional and modern interiors.

Below, three graduated drawers with original iron warabite-style pulls provide orderly storage, making this small tansu perfect as a bedside chest, desk-side companion, or entryway organizer.
