This elegant antique kimono tansu was crafted in Japan for storing folded kimono and obi, its clean rectangular form and horizontal grain giving it a calm, architectural presence. The warm honey tone of the wood highlights the straight grain, while the staggered drawer configuration offers practical modern storage that still reads unmistakably as a traditional isho dansu.

Delicately worked iron kanagu (hardware) with floral and scroll motifs accent the corners, drawer pulls, and lock plates, including the distinctive “I”-shaped corner fittings typical of quality Taishō-period cabinetry.
